About Us

Open Doors Organization (ODO), a 501(3)c non-profit disability organization based in Chicago, IL, that focuses on making travel, tourism and transportation more accessible for people with disabilities.

ODO has worked to improve accessibility in the aviation industry since 2004, holding airline and service company symposia and a biennial event, Universal Access in Airports, which brings together all industry stakeholders with the passengers with disabilities they serve.

ODO is a member of disability advisory boards at several U.S. airlines as well as a working committee on accessibility at IATA, the International Air Transport Association. The organization has delivered both disability awareness and Complaints Resolution Official (CRO) training to over 50 international airlines, both large and small, and serves as an Acting CRO for both domestic and foreign carriers.
